I must first say that I admit that "religion" has been misused to commit horrible, selfish, and inhumane acts. There is no way around that. As long as there has been history, there has been religion, and as long as there has been religion, there has been people abusing people through it. There is no excuse for it and there is no way to justify it.

Give a gun to a good, moral person and you can trust them to use it accordingly. Give a gun to a foolish, selfish, immoral person and you can trust something bad will probably come out of it. The Gun is not the criminal.

My Friend, you make a convincing argument for those that are not well informed. you maty have swayed some. But not me. The key piece of info you chose to omit from your opinion piece is the myriad of historians, both non-believers and the faithfull who've written of the crucifixtion of Christ, either in passing or detailed recording. Such as Cornelius Tacitus (55 A.D.) a heathen historian, who is considered to be one of the greatest historians of ancient Rome, recorded Christ?s crucifixion in detail as seen in his annals contained in 18 volumes.

Josephus (37-97 A.D.) A Jewish historian who wrote the history of his people in 20 volumes recorded the account of the life of Christ, His teaching, His miracles, and the detailed account of His crucifixion, which was ordered by Pontius Pilate. He mentioned also that Christ appeared to the disciples alive on the third day.

Lucian, the Greek, an outstanding Greek historian, wrote on the crucifixion of Christ and of the Christians who were willing to die for their faith in the Christ.

Pontius Pilate, the Roman Governor sent to Tiberius Caesar a full report of the crucifixion of Christ. This report was one of the documents with which Tertullian, a Christian scholar, supported his famous defense of the Christians. I will pray for you. "if you mock God you mock yourself".

Thanx for sharing your point of view.
with all my respect to your rationalization...each religion they claim that they are right and all the other religions are wrong...
Just think rationally about your dogma and it will fall like a house of cards...

Hi, Mohson---When it comes to the topic of religion, or religions, it is very easy to never be able to get past myriad misunderstandings. Given all the horror and cruelties perpetratated in the name of "God," or in the name of various religions, it is utterly natural for any intelligent person to be repulsed by "God" and by religions in general. However---allow me to spare you from decades of confusion. Go to your computer (well, I guess you're already there, if you're reading this....), and Google three letters...SRF. Or, if your fingers are feeling in an energetic mood, have them Google Self-Realization Fellowship. This group advocates, and teaches, a meditational technique known as "Kriya Yoga." I suspended my scorn and derision and profound distrust for "religion" 20-plus years ago, and began meditating, via "Kriya Yoga," and I have found the real truth that underlies all the well-meaning, and often hell-meaning, claims of "religion" Now, I've told you about it. You might be "turned off" by the seeming relationship of the SRF to Hinduism...they come from the same part of the world, and thusly some of the trappings are alike. But, beyond the superficial trappings they're not in any real accord. // I hope you'll, at least temporarily, and conditionally, put aside your rancor and pride and investigate what I've suggested. I was victim!!

I was victim like millions of other Muslims who've been brain washed. By false promises and exaggeration Claim. I have recently found out that I was so gullible who believed some myths, and have known that religion been created by some religious and political to control people!!!
